Julia Jane Dobbins

Julia Jane Dobbins, 90 of Statesville, died Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born in Iredell County on August 5, 1933, to the late Lee Dobbins and Naomi Pearson Dobbins. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Dobbins and Catherine Dobbins, a grandson, Terry Dobbins, and two brothers, Julius Dobbins, and Charles Dobbins.
Julia loved to work as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed going to church where she served on the Usher Board, and as a Mother of the Church. Julia was a loving, caring mother and grandmother and helped to raise all her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Spending time in the kitchen and cooking for her family brought her joy. She also loved to listen to gospel music. 
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, John Dobbins (Gwen), Kenny Dobbins (Beverly), three daughters, Betty Edwards (WC), Lisa Hunter (James), Barbara Turner, 22 grandchildren, 80 great and great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, James Dobbins (Virginia).
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Modene officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the service.
