Mrs. Judith Swicegood Phillips, 72, of Granite Falls and formerly of Statesville, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Davis Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Phillips was born in Rowan County on January 27, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Paul Eugene Swicegood and Ethel Moss Swicegood. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Lee Curlee, I. She is survived by three daughters, Dianne Angel (Tana), Sandy Roark (Mike) and Liane Curlee along with four sons, Billy Lee Curlee, II (Sheila), Doug Curlee (Stephanie), Daryl Curlee and Mike Curlee. She is also survived by a grandson, Casey Curlee, whom Judy helped raise. She is further survived by 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and two brothers and one sister. Funeral services for Judy Phillips will be conducted 2:30 pm Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Anthony, Josh and Brandon Curlee, Michael and Dereck Roark and Michael Crump.
