Judith Stevenson

Mrs. Judith Caroline "Judy" Whisenant Stevenson, 75, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, in the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Catawba County on February 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles Banks Whisenant and Lottie McRee Whisenant. She was a graduate of Maiden High School and the Medical College of Richmond, VA., with a degree in nursing. She was married to Dr. Robert McLelland "Bob" Stevenson, who survives. A registered nurse and Medical Practice Manager, she was retired from Statesville-Iredell Radiology. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Charles "Chuck" Joseph Stevenson of Statesville, John Gregory Stevenson (Sterling), of Charlotte, Robert "Rob" Blake Stevenson, and James "Jim" McLelland Stevenson, of Statesville. Two grandsons, Banks and Mac Stevenson, of Charlotte, two brothers, Charles L. "Chub" Whisenant of Tampa, FL., Gregory A. Whisenant (Jan) of Lincolnton, one sister, Cindy Moose (John) of Belmont, N.C. along with two nieces, Megan Moose and Mandy Goodwin (Jason). A service to celebrate the life of Judith Stevenson will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Concord Presbyterian Church with Rev. Grant Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625 or to First United Methodist Church, 303 N. Main Ave., Maiden, NC 28650. Goodin-Drum Funeral Home, Maiden, NC and Nicholson Funeral Home of Statesville, NC is serving the family of Mrs. Judith Whisenant Stevenson.
