Judith Louise Gray

Judith Louise Shope Gray, age 77, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on August 27, 1945, in Buncombe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James John Shope and Roberta Ashley Shope.

Judith could be defined by her family as a "fashionista." She enjoyed crocheting, watching her "Soap Operas," and reading. She loved going to her grandchildren's ball games.

In addition to her parents, James John Shope and Roberta Ashley Shope, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Rice; her grandson, Eric Martin; and her brother, John Benjamin Shope.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 32 years, Thomas Franklin Gray; her daughters, Crystal Brigman, Elizabeth Brigman, and Cynthia Justus; her grandchildren, Leigh Harris, Michael Rice, Ashley Brigman, and Austin Brigman; great grandson, Jax Henderson; her brother, James Michael Shope and his wife, Karen; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Shope; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family no services will be held. For those who wish, flowers or memorials can be donated to the donor's choice in memory of Judith.
