Jr. Stephen Godfrey

J. Stephen Godfrey, Jr., 51 of Galloway Township, NJ passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 31, 2011 in Hawaii. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, he lived in the Ocean County area of NJ for most of his life. He was a 1977 graduate of Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, NJ. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the Long Beach Township Police Department. He was a spiritual man and attended Emmaus United Methodist Church in Smithville, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed traveling, animals, and playing and watching football. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. Mr. Godfrey was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Godfrey. He is survived by his loving wife Pat Godfrey, and daughter Samantha Godfrey both of Leeds Point, NJ, his father James Godfrey, Sr., of Statesville, and a sister, Linda Brownlee of Llano, Texas. He is also survived by his aunts, Marjorie Kilpatrick, Lois Ostwalt, and Mary Ruth Godfrey, all of Troutman, four nephews, and many cousins living in the Statesville area. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:00am at Emmaus United Methodist Church, Smithville, NJ. Visitation will begin at 9:30am.
