Jack E. Little, Jr., 84, of Statesville, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Little was born November 23, 1926 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Jack Edmond Little, Sr. and Madeline Poston Little. He was a graduate of Statesville High School Class of '43 and on June 26, 1981, was married to Becky Gaither Little, who survives. Mr. Little was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was retired from Southern Screw after 39 years of service. He worked as a shipping and receiving supervisor. Mr. Little was a member of Pressley Memorial ARP Church and was a member of the Good Sam Piedmont Wagoneers and the Rambling Squares. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 65. In addition to his parents, Mr. Little was also preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Templeton and one brother, Bob Little. Along with his wife, Becky Gaither Little, of the home, Mr. Little is also survived by four daughters, Becky Freeze (Bob) of Statesville, Vicki Eckard (Terry) of Lancaster, PA, Lisa Gies (Doug) of Mooresville, and Wanda Wicker (Bruce) of Statesville; two sons, Jack Little, III (Jan) of Monroe, N.C. and Darrell Harwell (Lisa) of Statesville. Mr. Little is also survived by eight granddaughters, Melanie Brown (Donnie) of Mocksville, Carrie Little and Rebecca Little, both of Monroe, N.C., Kendra Eckard of Lancaster, PA, Crystal Wicker (Ceasar Titus) of Statesville, Eva Parsons (Johsua) of Fort Polk, LA, Terrie Harwell, and Jennifer Upright (Steven), both of Statesville; three grandsons, Allen Freeze (Heather) of Statesville, Jack Little IV (Aubrey) of Monroe, N.C., and Austin Gies of Mooresville. Mr. Little is also survived by one sister, Mary Alice Earnhardt (Robert) of Statesville, special nephew, Kenny Templeton of El Salvador, along with seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Pressley Memorial ARP Church with Dr. Stephen Myers and Rev. Cowles Bristol, III officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
