J.P. McLelland, 73, of Harmony, NC, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born November 7, 1942, in Sharpesburg, TN, and was the son of the late Edward C. McLelland and Brodie Johnson McLelland. He was a self-employed welder at J.P.'s Welding for over 30 years. J.P. loved to fish, ride his golf cart, watch old westerns, and visit his neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Glenda who died February 2008, two brothers, Bob and Paul McLelland along with one sister, Betty Sue Jarvis. He is survived by two nephews, two nieces and his close friends and neighbors on Glenwood Valley Drive and Harmony Hwy. A service celebrating J.P.'s life will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be a gathering of neighbors and friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Nicholson Funeral Home.
