Joyce Mullis Trivette, a devoted wife, mother, and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2025. Born on the farm on Tabor Road on January 24, 1942, Joyce resided in Harmony with her husband of 60 years, JP, and their cat, Rembrandt. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Joey Trivette (Ann Marie), and two grandchildren, Annsley and Joby.
Joyce Trivette loved her family, Harmony School and her community. She was active in Tabor Presbyterian Church, Woodmen of the World, the ECA, Friends of the Library, and Matthew 25. She had fond memories of her co-workers at JCPenney and JP Stevens Carpet where she worked for over 40 years. Joyce loved having the family in for huge meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed trips to the mountains with JP. She enjoyed helping on the farm and canning fruits and vegetables. She was most proud of her grandchildren. Whether watching them play basketball on TV, practicing tennis at the park, playing music with their father, or just hearing about their schoolwork, she beamed with joy when they were mentioned. Her life was meaningful, busy, and rewarding. She knew Christ and her Christianity showed through her actions.
Jesus Christ came to earth to live with us, to experience our struggles, to die for us, to rise again, and to make a place for us. Joyce Trivette is experiencing that paradise now. She is standing straight and tall. She is in no pain and is taking no more medicine. She is reconnecting with her mother, father, brothers, and all others that have gone on before her.
The family would like to thank all the neighbors and family who have supported them in so many ways in the last months and years. In her final days, Joyce received heartfelt care from her dedicated husband and the most incredibly kind, professional, and loving staff of Iredell Hospice. The family cannot thank them enough for allowing her to make this transition gracefully and with dignity.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at the Harmony Cemetery on Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 pm. The family would like to invite everyone to a Celebration of Life Service for Joyce tentatively set for May 4 at 2:00 at Tabor Presbyterian Church. It will be a service of memories and music, of worshiping Christ and singing hymns. Joey would like everyone to type up a memory or memories of Joyce and send them to him at sspcmusdir@gmail.com or contact JP personally.
