Johnsie Baity

Mrs. Johnsie Kay Morrison Baity, 66, of Statesville, passed away, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Baity was born May 10, 1948 in Statesville, NC and was the daughter of the late William Pressley Morrison, Jr. and Clois Galliher Morrison. She was a graduate of Statesville High School and on September 21, 1968, she was married to Douglas "Doug" M. Baity, who survives of the home. Her working career included Southern Screw, Thomas & Howard, Centura Bank, Citizens South Bank and Park Sterling Bank for 10 years, before retiring. She loved the beach, beach music and traveling. She was a people person, who never met a stranger. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she is survived by one son, Shayne D. Baity of Harmony and three sisters, Helen M. Beaver of Wilson, NC, Billie M. Schofield (Paul) of Reidsville, and Ann Morrison of Statesville. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Wendy Michelle Baity and one brother, Randall Scott Morrison. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
