John Yancy Dewitt Campbell

John Yancy Dewitt Campbell, 76, of Ronda, NC, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born in Iredell County on December 17, 1941 and was the son of the late Theofilis Campbell and Helen Daye Campbell and was predeceased in death by a sister, Loretta Bowles.



On February 8, 2018 John married his long-time companion, Ruth Smyth Campbell. He is survived by his children, Lois & Von McClamrock of Olin, Johnny and Wendy Campbell, Sheila Dalton and Karl Soderstrom, Darrell and Rachel Campbell, Donald and Amy Strickland, Sherry and Craig Earl, Angie Brown and Roscoe Pardue, and Jessica and Scott Schroeder, along with three sisters, Josephine Royall and Darlene Childress, and Catherine Hardy. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



A graveside service will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Beulah Church in Hamptonville, NC. The family will receive visitors at the home of Lois McClamrock, 308 Olin Loop, Olin, NC following the service.
