John William Moore

John William Moore, 88, of Statesville, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born in Iredell County on July 16, 1929 to the late Nathan Edward and Sarah Speece Moore. Mr. Moore attended Iredell County Schools and married Marjorie Rimmer in 1958. They shared over 59 years of marriage before his passing. He was retired from Clark Equipment after many years of service and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. John was a "ray of sunshine" to everybody, always happy and jovial. He loved his family and fishing. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Cliford Moore; three sisters, Lessie M. Roberson, Minniebelle M. Brooks, and Polly Ladd, and one brother, George Moore. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marjorie; a son, James Edward Moore (Angie); one granddaughter; three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Nathan Moore (Jean), and one sister, Dorothy M. Walker (Andy). Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, July 28, 2017 at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 10:45 am at the church.
