John Wayne Queen

March 9, 1954 — January 12, 2019

John Wayne Queen, 64, of Harmony, passed away Saturday January 12, 2019 at Davis Regional Hospital. He was born on March 9, 1954 in Iredell County to the late John Harlan Queen and Trillis Frye Queen, who survives.



John attended North Iredell High School and was married to Janet Leigh Burke on June 23, 1973. They shared over 45 years of marriage before his passing. He was a truck driver his whole career with his last job being with Ace Transport where he also worked as a Dispatcher. John loved his family, hunting, and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.



Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet; daughter, Michelle Davidson (Eric); granddaughter, Anna Davidson; three sisters, Denise Privette (Mike), Toni Ladd, and Pam Cash (Chris); sister-in-law, Donna Watt; brother-in-law, David Burke; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R.C. Redmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00pm.
