John Milton Carson, Jr.

John Milton Carson, Jr., 97, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Iredell County on April 29, 1921 to the late John Milton Carson, Sr. and Lillian Mabel Campbell Carson.



Mr. Carson attended Statesville City Schools and served his country honorably in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was married on October 26, 1942 to Ruth Cook Carson who preceded him in death in 1995. They shared over 53 years of marriage before her passing. John was owner/operator of Carson's Coin and Stamp Shop and was a member of the Civitan's. He was a member of First Baptist Church.



Along with his parents and wife, Ruth, he was preceded in death by one sister.



Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jane French, and a host of nieces and nephews.



A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 22, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr. officiating.
