His favorite past-times were gardening and for many years, raising cattle on his farm in North Iredell where he grew up. He was a tireless worker all his life and never let his impaired vision keep him from doing what needed to be done. He enjoyed the seniors Sunday school class and the Young at Heart activities at South River Baptist Church where he was a member for many years. Among the many good memories of his life, he will always be admired for his amazing ability to recall people and events with detailed clarity and historical information. Burial will follow at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
