John Keith Lyle

John Keith Lyle, 84, of Statesville NC passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 from complications of pneumonia. Born in Beresford, SD, John was a devoted family man that leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia Willard Lyle and six surviving children: Sharon Eddy & husband David with their sons Lucas, Steven & wife Becky of CT and Jason & wife Jetta of Washington DC; Grand-daughter Elysia Lyle of MA; Michael & wife Cris with their sons Joel & wife Mandy of TX; Jacob and wife Becky, Sean, Stephen & Kevin all of GA; Karen and her daughter Kim of Statesville; Kevin & wife Jeannie with their sons Corey & Chris of Harmony,NC; Kathleen Goodman & husband Sean with their sons Bryan & Ian of Statesville; Jennifer DeSantis & husband Mark with their daughters Brittany, Isabella & Lilliana all of MA, and eight great-grandchildren. John also leaves behind his sister Marian McWayne of Sioux Falls, SD and his brother James Lyle & wife Marilyn of CO. He will also be missed by his spoiled fur babies, Angel and Bear. John was preceded in death by his oldest son Jeffrey, his parents Mathew James and Emma Harms Lyle, his brother William of NM and his sister Dorothy of Sioux Falls SD. John was quick to put his own needs and wants aside for his family. He liked to make his homemade donuts when family came to visit. He was a retired Safety Engineer and Loss Risk Manager following a twenty year military career in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. John was a faithful member of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Statesville for more than 20 years. Funeral arrangements are being made by Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Church beginning at 10:00 am this Wednesday, May 25th, with Rev. Father Thomas Kessler officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the charity of your choice.
