John H. Mccoll

March 22, 1952 — May 7, 2014

"He's walking tall and whole" Please be in prayer for the family of Johnny McColl. Johnny put two strong legs on the ground in heaven at 12:10 a.m. May 7, 2014. Born John Howard McColl on March 22, 1952 he faced many physical and emotional trials with the strength and faith and grace given to those who hold Jesus in their heart. John is preceded in death by a loving father, Norman H. McColl, Sr. He is survived by a dear mother, Louise McLelland McColl; devoted wife Linda Pharr McColl of the home, Scotts, NC. Also surviving are son Jason J. McColl (Jaime), Statesville; step-daughter Michele Bailey, Scotts; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother Norman "Buddy" McColl (Jeanene) of Statesville; sister Margaret M. Langendorfer (Bill) of West Branch, Michigan; sister BettyAnn M. Russell (Harold) of Chapel Hill; sister Carolyn M. Foster (Jim) of Greensboro; and 'baby sister' Mary "jane jane" M. Myers (Barry) of Union Grove; along with too many beloved nieces and nephews to list. Due to Johnny's request the family is having a small private service. The family welcomes condolences of memories of John on the website of Nicholson Funeral Home, Statesville, NC, or sends cards of those fun times to Carolyn Foster, 1208 Valleymede Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410. Any stories shared with family members will be included in a memory album for the family to enjoy for years to come. In lieu of memorials or flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to help John's wife Linda with medical and other expenses. Gifts may be sent to Linda McColl, 120 Logan-New Amity Rd, Statesville, NC 28625. The family also asks that you please not share the news of Johnny's passing with mother Louise McColl. She would be unable to understand or retain the memory, or process the information at this time of her declining health. Any of her surviving children would be thankful for any sympathy cards meant for their mother. One of Johnny's most quotable statements in good or hard times was "Thank You Jesus"! "drummerboy"@yahoo.com signing off... ... Amen Online condolences can be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com/obituaries and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. McColl.
