John Donald Cass

It is with great sadness that the family of John Donald Cass born on the 18th of December 1946, announces his passing on the morning of November 3rd, 2018.



John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Barbara, and his children Amy Cass Khatib (Fayad) and Rebecca Cass Beam along with his three grandchildren, Majdi, Nora, and Mohammad Khatib and a special niece Ranita Rash Brown (Stephen). He is also survived by his brothers Charles, Roger (Tammy), Brent (Heather), and brothers-in-law, who were his best friends, Allen Rash and Gary Eller. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.



He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ruth York Cass and his treasured sister Corinne Cass Rash.

John was a man who loved his family with all his heart, enjoyed being outdoors, and had a laugh that could light up a room.



A funeral service will be held at Shepherd Baptist Church, 2210 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28117 on Wednesday, the 7th of November at 3:00 PM with Edward Shumaker, Majdi Khatib, Dr. Nelson Osborne and Pastor Mike Martin officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Volunteer Honor Guard will follow in the Shepherd Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.
