Joe Edward Phillips

REEDS-Mr. Joe Edward Phillips, 78, of Reeds, NC passed away May 24, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Phillips was born July 27, 1942 in Gaffney, SC to the late Irving Edward and Dora Byars Phillips and was a pipefitter/construction worker, beginning his 50 plus year career with Daniels Construction. He proudly served our country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Joe loved the ocean, had a fierce passion for firearms, and was a great storyteller. He could make you believe anything he told you. He was a wonderful father, brother and loyal friend. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia H. Phillips, brother, Jackie Phillips and sister Sarah Scates. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter Tammy Phillips Chambers (Terry) of Gaffney, SC, brother David Phillips (Martha) of Liberty, SC, sister Karen Richards (Billy) of Savannah, Ga, sister-in-law Bobbi Perry of Reeds, NC, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
