Jodie Hastings Brittain, 49 of Statesville, entered her eternal home Saturday December 15, 2018 at University Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Lincoln County on February 5, 1969 daughter of JoAnn Hastings and the late Dwight Benjamin Hastings. She was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church. On June 16, 2012, she married the love of her life Dennis Brittain who survives of the home, along with her fur baby Eden.



Before her illness Jodie was employed at Security Central. Jodie was also employed at Rubbermaid for many years. Jodie was active in her church where she sang in the choir and was involved with the youth. She loved her Lord and Savior and gave her testimony to hospital staff during her illness. Jodie was close with family and loved each of them with all her heart. She enjoyed her summers on the lake and rides to the mountains with her husband. She had a heart of gold.



In addition to her husband she is survived by mother JoAnn Hastings of Statesville. She is also survived by two brothers Mike Hastings of Statesville, Marvin Hastings (Jennifer) of Harmony and one sister Joy Lawter (Jeff) of Troutman. Surviving are two brother in laws Mitchel Brittain (Laura) and Ronnie Brittain. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and great nieces, LeKeshia Lassiter (Todd), Kristy, Brandon, Beth, David, Tyler and Landon Hastings, Alex Lawter and a nephew on the way, Titanna, Adrianna, and Kianna Lassiter, Mia and Ava McCurdy. In addition are her brother in laws children, family members and many friends left to cherish her memory. Pallbearers will be Mike Hastings, Marvin Hastings, Jeff Lawter, Bill Fuller, Jacob Scott, Kelly Warren. Honorary pallbearer Tyler Hastings. Funeral services will be conducted 12pm Wed. 12/19 @ Bright Light Church with Rev Jayson Fox and Mitchel Brittain. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will visit Tues. evening 6pm-8pm @ Nicholson Funeral Home and again 11am-12pm prior to services @ the church.



Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
