Jimmie Eugene Lawson

KING- Mr. Jimmie Eugene Lawson, 78, of King passed away December 23, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. A Stokes county native and the son of the late Frankie and Ruby Adkins Lawson, Jimmie was employed as a truck driver for 50 years, most recently with ABF Freight. Jimmie loved to sing bluegrass music and was known far and wide as little Jimmy Martin, the singing truck driver. He loved gardening, his family, making music with his friends, and was very sentimental and had a big heart that touched the lives of everyone he met.In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by brothers Larry Wayne and infant Donnie Eugene Lawson and his infant sister Malinda Ruth Lawson. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 60 years Ruth Allen Lawson, his daughter whom he cherished Melinda Ruth Lynn Nance (special friend Darrin), and grandson Ernest Tevis Nance, IV of whom he was very proud. The family will receive friends at a graveside service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Trinity United Methodist Church in King, NC. The family will observe social distancing and cautionary measures.
