Jerry Wayne Cloer

January 13, 1975 — March 19, 2018

Jerry Wayne Cloer, 43, of Statesville, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family following a three plus year battle with cancer.



Jerry was born in Iredell County on January 13, 1975 and was the son of Marilyn Sue Stumbo Cloer and the late Gary Wayne Cloer. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School and on May 22, 2010 he married the love of his life, Kelly Susanne Allen Cloer, who survives.



Jerry was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and he was employed with Toter Inc for 18 years where he worked as a supervisor.



In addition to his wife Kelly of the home and mother Marilyn of Stony Point, Jerry is survived by one son, Landon Cloer and one daughter, Logan Cloer, and mother-in-law, Reida Allen, all of the home. He is also survived by two sisters, Shelia Anderson (Steve) of Taylorsville and Debbie Mendez of Ft. Rucker, AL along with four nieces, Cortney Gerald (Matthew), Britney Anderson of Taylorsville, Jessica Mendez of Stony Point and Larissa Mendez of Harmony. He is further survived by two great-nephews, Gannon and Riley Gerald of Taylorsville. A number of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.



Funeral services for Jerry Cloer will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2018, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Steve Anderson, Bryan Nichols, Matthew Gerald, Mike Woods, Billy Nichols and Gary Anderson.



Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to the college fund for Landon and Logan Cloer c\o State Employees Credit Union, 1742 Wilkesboro Hwy, Statesville, NC 28625.
