Jerry Lee Strum

Jerry Lee Strum, 72, died September 7, 2013 peacefully at his home in Statesville, NC. He was born June 19, 1941 in Vance County, NC. He was a 1959 graduate of John Nichols High School, Oxford, NC after which he served four years with the U.S. Army. He received an AA Accounting Degree with honors from Wingate College, Wingate, NC and a BA Economics Degree from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his brothers, James Strum, Durham, NC, Lawrence Strum, Emerald Isle, NC, and sisters, Hazel Davidson, Statesville and Vickie Davenport, Williamsburg, VA, also long time friend, Daphne Stabel, Statesville, Statesville. In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 14, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, Oxford, NC.
