Jerry Frazier

Mr. Jerry James Frazier, 63, of Statesville, passed away Friday, May 09, 2014, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health. Mr. Frazier was born in Iredell County on September 13, 1950, and was the son of the late James Ralph and Lois Perkins Frazier. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and he was of the Baptist faith. He was mechanically inclined and he enjoyed working on cars. He had a passion for sports, especially NASCAR and football. When his health would allow, Mr. Frazier enjoyed taking trips to the beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Frazier and maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. W.G. Perkins. He is survived by two sisters, Vickie Frazier of the home and Pat F. Sharpe (Ron) of Statesville along with one brother, Perky Frazier (Rose) of Cool Springs. He is also survived by three nieces, Deanna Bodenheimer (Bodie) of Statesville, Krista Waugh (Jason) of Troutman and Joy Murphy (Michael) of Cools Springs along with one nephew, Chad Frazier of Cool Springs. He is further survived by four great nieces and two great nephews. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Frazier will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jack Causey officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at their perspective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 815 Davie Ave. Statesville, NC 28677.
