Jerry Franklin Prevette

Mr. Jerry Franklin Prevette, 81, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Prevette was born in Iredell County on August 8, 1935, and was the son of the late Guy W. and Ruth E. Ellis Prevette. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and Rowan Technical Institute. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and was a member of the Moose Lodge. On September 13, 1982, he married Donna Marie Lafferty Prevette, and together they shared 34 years before his passing. Jerry was retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital where he worked in environmental services. He worked primarily in the Endoscopy Dept. Jerry had a special place in the hearts of the staff there and had given the ladies in the dept. their own nicknames. The ladies were very fond of Jerry and those who had the pleasure of working with him will miss his "grin", laughter and the many pranks he pulled. In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Ginny Martineau-Leonard of Myrtle Beach, SC, a cousin and our Angel, Angela Best and husband Tim, special friends Cathy and Keith Snyder and Kathy and Jack Rose, all of Statesville along with his best bud Bob Youncofski of Wilmington, NC and nephew Trevor Martineau and wife Katee of Liverpool, NY. Funeral services for Jerry Prevette will be conducted 6:00 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor C. Paul Glenn and Susan Hall officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the funeral service. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to girls in the Endo Dept. for their friendship and love shown to Jerry during his employment at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Also, to the staff of both the Endo and Emergency Depts. as well as special thanks to Dr. Pam Sholar for her devoted care during his illness. Your love and compassion was unwavering and appreciated.
