Jerry Coite Miller

Mr. Jerry Coite Miller, 75, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Miller was born September 13, 1940, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Ross H. Miller and Mary Lizzy Bost Miller. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and on July 6, 1966, he married Christine Moose Miller. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Uniglass Ind. where he worked as a supervisor. Following his retirement from Uniglass, he worked for Mocaro Textiles. Mr. Miller was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church. He was a man who loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with neighbors and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Ashley Coite Miller. Along with his wife, he is survived by one son, Stacy Miller and two daughters, Shanda Miller (Mike) and Aimee Miller along with four grandchildren, Heather Moose, Tripp Johnson, Bellami Miller, and Levi Miller. He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Miller (Elaine) along with four sisters, Barbara Loftin, Frances Duncan, Joyce Funderburk, and Andrea Dees. Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Mt. Herman Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Corbell officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 until 10:45 am at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Building Fund, 106 Mt. Hermon Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
