Jerry Alfred Drye

Jerry Alfred Drye, 79, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Brian Center Hickory East.

Jerry was born on December 3, 1939 in Mecklenburg County and was the son to the late Joseph Alfred and Ethel White Drye. Jerry was served in the US Army for 10 years where he was an Electrician. He continued by being a Commercial Electrician which allowed him to travel all over and work on all types of building. Jerry's love and passion was for cars and hot rods. He rebuilt a 1940 Coupe from the frame up which appeared in several magazines. Jerry was also a member of the Hot Rod Car Association.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings.

Left to cherish his memory are his niece, Tina (Donald) Johnson; great-nieces, Brittany Crawford and her children, Leland and Gracelyn-Marie Crawford, Kristy Crawford and her children and Amanda Johnson and great-nephew, Bradly Johnson.

A celebration of Jerry's life with full military honors will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 6pm in the Chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor James Lewis officiating. The family will gather and greet friends after the service.
