Jeanne Pou

Martha Jeanne Hipp Pou, 84, of Statesville, NC. passed away Saturday February 8, 2014 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born March, 14, 1929 at Fort Shoals, SC. and was the daughter of the late Lee Roy Hipp and Gladys Coker Hipp. She was a graduate of Hickory Tavern High School in Fort Shoals, SC. In 1954 she was married to Broadus Pou who preceded her in death on November 16, 1993. She earlier worked for the C. Douglas Wilson Company and Royster Fertilizers Co. From 1976 until 2011 she was associated with the Statesville Auto Auction where she served as credit manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been very active in the Iredell County Republican Womens Club where she had served as President. She is survived by one son Ridgell Lee Pou (Julie Burris Pou) from Lowesville, NC. One daughter Regina Pou Barnes(Ron) of Fort Mill SC. Three Grandchildren Lindsay Pou Monsinger (Johnathan) of Denver, NC. , Zachary Nathaniel Pou of Lowesville, NC. , and Andrew Jordan Barnes of FortMill , SC. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM. Monday, February, 10, 2014 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jack Causey officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church, 815 Davie Av.
