Laura Jeanette Clanton Pegram, 75, of Statesville, passed away November 14, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Pegram was born June 15, 1942 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Franklin Bard Clanton and Olllie Mae Tilley Clanton. She attended Central school and on August 14, 1964, she was married to the late Charles Wayne Pegram, who passed away April 19, 2014. She attended Rocky Hill Baptist Church and worked for Uniglass Industries for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed working in her garden and her flowers and also canning. She was also enjoyed ordering heirloom seeds. Mrs. Pegram is survived by two sisters, Erma C. Apple of Anderson, SC, Aileen C. Loyd (Max) of Clemson, SC; two brothers, Ralph Clanton of N. Wilkesboro, Dorman Clanton (Sue) of Statesville along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda Roseman and two brothers, Buford and Rayford Clanton. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00-2:30 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Jody Travis, Tim Roseman, Tony Clanton, Mark Connolly, Ethan Connolly and Mick Duncan.
