Jean Raye Carrico

March 20, 1934 — August 15, 2015

Mrs. Jean Raye Carrico of Statesville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Carrico was born on March 20, 1934 in Duplin County. She was the daughter of the late Vinnie Deaver. On March 20, 1955 she married Emery Charles Carrico who preceded her in death on August 10, 1993. Although her physical presence will no longer be felt, her joyful and nurturing spirit will live on through the many lives she touched as a CNA for Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Carrico was a Godly woman whose faith inspired those around her. She was known to be a mother to anyone who needed care, a loyal friend to many, and an avid member at Troutman Baptist Church. Cherishing her memory are her children; Carla Stover (David), Deane Carrico (Carol), Richard Carrico (Marsha), Kimbrell Frazier (John), son-in-law Herb Brantley (Gwen) and her grandchildren; Courtney Grant (Kyle), Holly Carrico (Mike), Mike Brantley (Bonnie) and Todd Brantley (Michelle). She is also survived by great grandchildren; Miles Christensen, Jennifer Brantley, Nikki Little and Wade Smart. Also a great great grandson, Wyatt Smart. She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Alma Brantley We would like to thank the dedicated caretakers, first and foremost, Debbie Earnest, and staff at Gordon Hospice House who so lovingly cared for their "Mrs. Jean" during the last years of her life. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 Wednesday August 19, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. J. B. Parker, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the service and burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
