Mrs. Jean Barkley Stevenson Jackson, 85, of Statesville, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health. Mrs. Jackson was born September 20, 1925 in Randolph County, WV and was the daughter of the late Fred O. Barkley and Barbara Powers Barkley Knox. She was a graduate of Elkins High School in W.V. and was first married to the late William F. "Bill" Stevenson. She later remarried the late George E. Jackson and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was retired from Brenton Textiles, a day care operator, grocery store operator and owner and operator of Jeannie's and Emery's Restaurant in Mooresville. She was an avid gardener, accomplished seamstress and fed multitudes with her wonderful homecooking. She was a kind and generous lady who was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Jackson is survived by one daughter, Linda S. Gladden (Robert) of Statesville, two sons, Mark Stevenson (Ena) of Statesville, Gregg Stevenson (Jean) of Statesville, grandchildren, Karen S. Skeens of Salem, SC, Marc Renee Tolle (Brent) of Taylorsville, KY, Gregg Stevenson, Jr. of Pikeville, NC, Derek Stevenson (Jatana) of Statesville, Krista Bolick (Shane) of Statesville, Spencer Stevenson and fianc
