Jay Jackson

Mr. Marvin Earl "Jay" Jackson, 64, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Jackson was born April 5, 1947 in North Platte, Neb. And was the son of Uyvon Fossbinder Jackson and the late Oris Arthur Jackson. He was a graduate of Great Bend, Kansas Schools and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On April 2, 1971, he was married to Sherry Taylor Jackson, who survives of the home and was formally employed by Kewaunee Scientific Corp. In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Jackson is survived by one daughter, Cindy Jackson of Statesville, one son, Chris Jackson of Statesville, three sisters, Joan Atwood of Gentry, AK, Virginia Jackson of Great Bend, KS, Christine Herrman of Great Bend, KS and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. No formal services are scheduled at this time.
