Jane Della Shiminski

Jane Della (Valerius) Shiminski, 80, of Lexington, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, July 23, 2022.



She was born on October 23, 1941, in Babylon, New York, to the late George Francis Valerius and Agnes Rosemarie (Leitch) Valerius.



Jane graduated from Center Moriches High School in the class of 1959. She worked for East Moriches Union Free School District where she worked as a Secretary / Receptionist for 24 years before retiring in 1996. She married the love of her life, Lewis Melvin Shiminski, February 13, 1960, in Long Island, New York.



She loved to travel, especially camping with her husband, which took them to 43 states. Jane enjoyed cruising, loved her job, adored her children and grandchildren, and liked to stay physically active walking. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and won a "Homemaker of the Year" award. Jane was of the Catholic faith.



In addition to her parents, George and Agnes Valerius, Jane was preceded in death by her brothers John and George Valerius.



Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Lewis Shiminski; children, Dennis Shiminski (Katherine) of Australia, Louann Radigan (Kevin) of Lexington, NC, and Scott Shiminski of Lexington, NC; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.



Services will be held by family privately at a later date.
