Jane Ann Long

June 8, 1921 — March 31, 2018

Jane was born on June 8, 1921 in Williamsport, PA to the late Richard and Mildred Russell Hart. She was their only child. Jane attended Williamsport High School where she said her favorite classes were in Art and Dance. As a young woman, she taught ballet to the kids in her town to give them something extracurricular to do. Jane went on to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a telephone operator. This is where she met her husband, Huntley F. Long, who was working as a civil engineer. They were married on June 24, 1950 and had two daughters, Deborah and Pamela.



Jane was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church, serving on the Altar Guild at every parish she attended. She served as the Director of the AG at Trinity Episcopal Church in Fishkell, NY for several years.



Jane was predeceased by her husband in 1995 and later went on to live with her daughter Deborah. They moved to Statesville in 2016. Jane passed away on March 31, 2018t due to complications of pneumonia. She was 96 years old.



Jane is survived by her daughters, Deborah L. Hillard and Pamela J. Bunker (Wayne); four grandchildren, Mark A. Hillard (Kelly) and Erik M. Hillard (Ashley), Thomas H. Bunker (Allison), and Laura M. Famulare (Christopher); and three great grandchildren, Ethan M., Alyvia E., and Andrew J. Hillard.



A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Statesville with Rev. Brad Mullis officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Trinity Episcopal Church in Fishkill, NY.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Episcopal Church, 1200 Main Street, Fishkill, NY 12524. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfuneals.com and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
