James Wesley Summers

James Wesley Summers, 62, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Iredell County on December 30, 1955 to the late James Henry Summers and Dorothy Morrison Summers, who survives.



Wesley was a graduate of high school in California and attended Kansas State University. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Wesley was a member of New Amity ARP Church where he sang in the choir. He was a loving son who was the caregiver for his mother.



Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dot; two brothers, C. Michael Summers (Debbie) of Blue Springs, MO and Robert H. Summers (Tracy) of Olathe, Kansas; several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.



Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at New Amity ARP Church with Rev. Robert Sherer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 am.
