James Edward House, Jr

James Edward House, Jr, 94, of Statesville, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Maple Leaf Health Care. Mr. House was born August 15, 1922, in Yonkers, NY and was the son of the late James Edward House, Sr. He was a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, VA where he received his BA in Education. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was married to Eleanor Thomas House, who preceded him in death on September 25, 2013. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Rolland Thomas (Allie) along with four sisters-in-law, Mozella Harris, Hazel Massey, Rosalyn Cephas, and Emma Thomas. A memorial service honoring the life of James House will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Calvary Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Bates officiating. A private burial will precede the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 531 S. Green Street, Statesville, NC 28677.
