Mr. James Cline Gaither, 88, of Harmony, died Saturday at Davis Regional Medical Center. Born in Iredell County he was the last living child of Alexander Milton Gaither and Elizabeth Ann Nichols Gaither. Mr. Gaither was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed singing, cooking, gardening and farming. He retired from Jones' Grocery and poultry farming. He also sang in the Davie Singing Seniors group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Pauline Foster Gaither. He was also preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters: Ralph, Roy, Richard, A.M. and John Gaither, Louise Cartner, Esther Campbell and Virginia Jones. Survivors include his son, Tim Gaither and his wife, Lisa and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services celebrating Mr. Gaither's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Clarksbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Cliff Wall and Rev. Donnie Durham officiating. He will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
