James Allen Shore

James Allen Shore, 80, of Statesville, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Yadkin County, August 2, 1938 to the late Reuben Shore and Maude Money Shore. He was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Harold Shore, and 2 sisters, Maxine Davis and Ressie Hunter.

James attended school in Yadkin County and was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. He worked for 38 years as a lineman and supervisor for Energy United. On November 8, 1958, he married the former Sherrill Groce and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his death. James enjoyed gardening, farming, raising cattle, hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his granddaughters.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; Mark (Jamie) Shore, 3 granddaughters; Megan (Patrick) Price of Morganton, NC, Lindsay Shore and Mackenzie Shore of Statesville, and a great-granddaughter; Blakely Price.

Funeral services for Mr. Shore will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 3:00 pm, at Union Chapel Baptist Church with The Rev. William Wease and Rev. Arthur Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
