Jackie Scott Atwell

September 23, 1951 — March 12, 2021

Jackie Scott Atwell, 69, of Statesville, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 after a brief non-Covid respiratory illness and a long battle with dementia.

She was born in Mecklenburg County on September 23, 1951 to the late Clarence L. Scott and Maxine Seagle Scott. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda S. Miller and a brother, Steve Scott.

Jackie graduated from South Iredell High School in 1969. She enjoyed her grandchildren, pets, bingo and beach music.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Nancy Burkett (Craig) and Beverly Moose (Jody), grandchildren, Samantha Moose, Johnathon Moose, Wattie "Will" Hamilton IV, and Payton Hamilton, great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Johnson-Moose, Kyle Moose and William Button.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 19, 202 at 4:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lewis officiating.

The family would like to thank the Staff of Springs of Catawba, the Staff of Catawba Valley Medical Center, the Staff of Gordon Hospice House and the Staff of Nicholson Funeral Home for the special care of our mother.
