Irene Beckham

Irene Bostian Houston Beckham, 99, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, October 1, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.



Mrs. Beckham was born May 11, 1919 in Alexander County and was the daughter of the late William Jones Bostian and Ada Cleo Little Bostian. She attended Iredell County schools and was married to the late Hal Griffith Houston, who passed away July 30, 1994. She later married the late Lester Beckham, who passed away in 2011. She was a member of Cochran Street Baptist Church and was a seamstress for Bali-Flexknit.



She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Priscilla Houston, Dixie P. Houston both of Statesville; two grandsons, Mark Houston (Betty) of Stony Point, Scott Houston (Debbie) of Lexington, SC; two great granddaughters, Erica Peake (Brian) and Emily Addison (Jamie) both of Lexington, SC; four great great-grandchildren, Logan Peake, Dylan Peake, Mary Katherine Addison, McKenzie Ann Addison all of Lexington, SC, three sisters, Iola Moose of Troutman, Delois Harris of Statesville, Peggy Taylor of Statesville and a number of nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by two sons Hal Edward "Eddie" Houston, David O'Neil Houston along with five brothers and two sisters.



Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor Roscoe Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.



The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Gardens and the 4th Floor N. Staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
