Hugh Shirik Gaither

On May 22,2024, Mr. Hugh Shirik Gaither, 49 of Statesville, NC departed this life & entered into eternity at his home. 

Born on May 5, 1975, in Iredell County, he was the youngest son of loving parents. Mr. Hugh Gaither and Mrs. Thomasene Tuner Gaither. 

Shirik attended Harmony Elementary School & North Iredell High School. As a child, he attended Piney Grove AME Zion Church with his family. 

Shirik was a sharp dresser, love his baseball caps & took pride in his appearance even when his health began to decline. One of his most enjoyable hobbies was fishing. 

Shirik lived his life on his terms. He was a straight talker, and his words would sometimes be very sharp. Yet beneath his though exterior the ease and willingness in which he would say "I'm sorry" & "Thank you" made you know he had some good inside him. 

Shirik was loved by his family and friends who will always remember that he was his own man. POINT. BLANK. PERIOD.

Shirik was proceeded in death by his parents, and two infant daughters Shirrika Nicole & Precious Unique Gaither. 

He is survived by a loving family. His son's Tashon Shirik Gaither (Destiny) of Statesville, La'Brian O'Neal Gaither, Chas'lon Sharod Gaither both of Mooresville, Patrick Kiser (Iyanna) of Charlotte & Christian Redmond of Mocksville. His daughters Monikia Clement of Mocksville & Cheyenne Thomasene Gaither of Harmony. Shirik grandchildren Khari McClelland Jr, Kaden Howell, Kensley Hairston, Cameron Gaither, Rosalyn Gaither, Dominic Kiser & Xavier Kiser. His brothers Patrick Turner of Mocksville, Derek Gaither of New York & Clifford Gaither of California.  His sisters Victoria Turner Brown (Steve) of Salisbury & Janice Gaither Nichols (Richard) of New York. Shirik has two specials' aunts, Ms. Clara Rankin & Ms. Otelia Turner. A devoted friend, Miss Peggy Ramseur, a special cousin Denise Brown, a special friend Demetris Thompson & a host nephew, cousins relatives & friends. 

Funeral service will be held at Piney Grove AME Zion Church, Harmony, NC. The Rev. John Phifer will be officiating. His sister Victoria Brown will be giving the Eulogy. The family will have a visitation from 2:00pm - 2:30pm. The service will start at 2:30pm.
