Henry Milholland

December 12, 1920 — June 4, 2014

Henry Clark Milholland, 93 of New Sterling Community, Stony Point passed away June 4, 2014 at home. He was born Dec. 12, 1920 in Iredell County to the late Robert Emery and Lessie Morrison Milholland. He graduated from Sharon School. In 1983 he retired from Duke Power. He enjoyed woodworking, making swings and other items in his shop. He was a member of New Sterling ARP Church and served as deacon and elder. He served in the Merchant Marines in the Pacific Theater while supplying Navy Ships. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #27. He was preceded in death by wife Edith Setzer, a brother Darr, and a sister Marian Myers. Survivors include a son Dan Milholland (Velva) of Holly Springs, NC, a daughter, Glenda M. Hall (Larry) of Stony Point. He is also survived by grandchildren Derrick Hall (Linda), Kevin Hall (Jamie), Bobby Milholland (Karla), and Kim Pennington (Lee). Great Grandchildren Kym, Travis, Brandon, and Alisha Hall, Madeline Milholland, Olivia and Caden Pennington and several stepchildren also survive. A memorial service for Mr. Milholland will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 9, 2014, at New Sterling ARP Church, Stony Point, NC with Dr. Tim Watson officiating. The family will meet with friends immediately following the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cemetery Fund @ New Sterling ARP Church, 580 New Sterling Rd., Stony Point, NC 28678 Online condolences can be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com/obituaries and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
