Helen Alexander Goforth

Helen Alexander Goforth, of Statesville, passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was 90 years of age and the second oldest in a family of 14 children. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, J.D. Goforth; a daughter, Linda Goforth Thompson of Banner Elk; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Patsy Hayes and Doris Martin and brothers, Ritchie, Larry, and Don Alexander, all of the Wilkes County area. The family will meet with visitors at 2:00 PM at Diamond Hill Baptist Church prior to the 3:00PM service on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Pastor Larry Holleman will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625 or to Diamond Hill Baptist Church, 2320 E.
