Hazel Marie Atwell

Mrs. Hazel Marie Moretz Atwell, 72, of Statesville, passed away, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Atwell was born March 26, 1945 in Elkton, MD and was the daughter of the late Earl and Bessie Blair Moretz. She attended schools in West Virginia and is married to Johnny Franklin Atwell. She was a member of Welcome Inn Church and previously worked for Davis Hospital for several years. In addition to her loving husband of 42 years, she is survived by two daughters, Tina Jordan of Statesville, Earline Johnson and husband, Jeremy of Statesville and eight grandchildren, Brandon Jordan, Amber Johnson, Charity Jordan, Serenity Jordan, Haven, Princess, Pup 1 and Pup 2. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Beulah Land Church in Jonesville, NC with Pastor Ray Kiser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Welcome Inn Church, 154 Newton Alley, Statesville, NC. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House and the family would like to give a special thanks to Ray and Faye Kiser, Charity and Serenity Jordan and the Welcome Inn Church Family and Friends for all their love and support.
