Hassill William Reep

Mr. Hassill William (Pappaw) Reep, 87, the man with the big hugs, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Rowan County on July 31, 1929, he was a son of the late Sidney Daniel Reep and Bertie Yoder Reep. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dean A. Reep in 1988 at the age of 24 from cancer, brothers, George, Blake, Glenn, Earl, J.R. and Joe Reep and a sister, Curtis Reep Goodman. Mr. Reep was a member of the West Iredell Ruritan Club and was retired from the West Iredell Volunteer Fire Dept. He was also active in his church. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was retired from J. C. Penny Co. warehouse. On October 18, 1958, he married the former Dorothy Marlow who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Joy Reep Shuford, a son, Ricky D. Daniels and wife Karen, grandchildren, Allan Hilton Shuford, Shannon E. Daniels and Michael P. Daniels. Also surviving is a great grandchild, Jocellyn Marie Shuford, a son-in-law, Christopher Hilton Shuford and a brother, Harry Eugene Reep, many nieces and nephews, and a host of young people who through the years needed a home. Services celebrating Mr. Reep's life will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Christ Church at 2172 Wilkesboro Hwy in Statesville Rev. Chip McGee, Rev. Olin Isenhour, and Rev Eric Morhpis officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with full military rites presented by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the West Iredell Ruritan Club and the West Iredell Volunteer Fire Dept. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. and at other times will be assembled at the residence.
