Mr. Harry Joseph Bevington, 71, of Statesville, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Bevington was born May 12, 1944 in Beaver, PA and was the son of the late Samuel Earl Bevington, Sr. and Edna Ruth Tice Bevington. He was a graduate of Beaver Area High School in 1963 and served in the US Army in France and Germany. On August 15, 1969, he married Nita Jane May Bevington, who survives of the home and they attended Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Statesville, NC. He was retired from PBI Industries in Rochester, PA and also retired from Thomasville Industries in Troutman, NC. He loved spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren and his favorite pastimes were hunting, gardening, walking at Mac Anderson Park and watching WWE Raw. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by daughter, Bonnie Davis (Steve) of Enon Valley, PA, son, Harry Bevington, Jr. of Statesville, daughter, Amy Bell (Scott) of Statesville, four grandchildren, Emily and Autumn Davis of Enon Valley, PA and Preston and Faith Bell of Statesville, along with sister, Mary Suchy of Minerva, OH, brother, Thomas Bevington (Karol) of Beaver, PA, sister, Ruth Morgan (Ray) of Ohioville, PA, sister, Rose Boyce (Jim) of Midland, PA, sister, Mollie Mineard of Statesville and s sister-in-law, Nancy Bevington of Darlington, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Bevington, Jr. and Donald Bevington. Memorial services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at The Cove Statesville Campus.
