Hank William Brandon

Hank William Brandon, 46, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was born in Dallas, Texas to the late Michael Francis Brandon and Shirley Ann Frid Brandon Thurmond, who survives. Hank was a graduate of Troup High School in Georgia and received his BS Degree in Computer Science. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army retiring as a Staff Sergeant after over 22 years of service. He served with valor in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom having received numerous medals and ribbons. At the time of his death, he was employed as a computer technician for Black Hawk Sweepstakes. Hank was of Baptist faith and was a caring father who was beloved by his family. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Cody Brandon (Kaitlin); a grandson, Wyatt Brandon; his mother, Shirley Thurmond; three brothers, Michael, Jay, and Matthew Brandon; two sisters, Tracy Brandon and Elizabeth Keels; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Hank will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Haizlip officiating. Burial with military honors will be held 10:00 am Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm and after the service. At other times, the family will be assembled at the house of Hank's sister, Elizabeth, 503 N. Kelly Street, Statesville, NC.
