Gwyn Little

March 21, 1926 — October 8, 2011

Gwyn Reavis Little, 85, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at the Gordon Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born March 21, 1926 in Iredell County to the late Ora T. Reavis and Robert L. Reavis. Mrs. Little was a clerical and textile worker, and retired from Jansen Textiles. She was a lifetime member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Walker Bible Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.G. "Bill" Little; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Reavis and Clyde Reavis and a sister, Kathleen Weidner. She is survived by one son, Rodney S. Little and wife, Dina and their children, Candace and Zachary Little of Statesville, and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Gwyn enjoyed music, and played piano for her Sunday school class for a number of years. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, taking mountain trips in the fall, sewing, and spending time reading on her porch. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at First A.R.P. Church with Rev. Robert Sherer and Rev. Andrea Conder officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. The family would like to extend much thanks and appreciation to the Gordon Hospice House for their loving care and support; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gordon Hospice House.
