Gurley Lee Walters, Jr.

Gurley Lee Walters, Jr., 'Junior' gained his angel wings on Wednesday morning, January 26, 2022 after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Junior was born in High Point, NC on May 12, 1968, to Gurley Lee Walters, Sr., and Nellie Louise Smith Walters. He was 53. Junior was preceded in death by his father and both paternal and maternal grandparents. Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Mrs. Louise Walters of Lexington; daughter, Alyssa Walters; son, Ashton Walters, both of Greenville, NC; sisters, Teresa Macemore of Lexington, Diane Macemore and Linda Gough of Salisbury, NC. Libby McGee of Florida, Debbie Walters, and Loretta Rhodes Nobles of Trinity, NC. Junior also had an extended family at Crisis Ministry of Davidson County and a very special friend, John Reaves. A Celebration of Life service is planned for February 5th at 11am at Crisis Ministry of Davidson County, 107 E 1st Avenue, Lexington, NC.
