Gregory "Greg" Glenn Murdock

Gregory Glenn Murdock, 67, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born on July 23, 1950 in Iredell County to the late Bill Glenn Murdock and Ruby Sells Murdock, who survives Greg was a graduate of South Iredell High School and Catawba Valley Community College. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In 1986, he married Sandra Thomas Murdock and they shared over 31 years of marriage before his passing. Greg was owner/operator of Murdock and Son Carpet Cleaning and was a member of Troutman United Methodist Church. He loved fishing and being out in nature. Greg was a loving husband, father, grandfather who cherished spending time with his family. Along with his mother, Ruby, those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandy; a daughter, LeAnne Romero; a son, Charles Murdock (Summer); grandchildren, Carli, Bryson, Taylin, and Gracin; his sister, Rita Raymer; numerous nieces and nephews; and his four-legged best friends, Buckeye, Michael, Badger, and Charlie. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Duncan officiating. The family will visit with friends following the Memorial Service. Burial will be held 10:00 am Monday at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
