Grady Samuel Hicks

Mr. Grady Samuel Hicks, 74, of Statesville, died Saturday, March 26, 2016. Born in Iredell County on December 5, 1941, he was a son of the late Elmer Hicks and Ruth Irene Doby Hicks. Mr. Hicks retired from Southern Screw Company and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Maynor. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Evelyn Holland, two daughters, Darlene Myers (Dwayne) of Belmont and Melissa Day (Mark Briggs) of Statesville, granddaughters: Beverly Hartness (Andy Simmons) and Katrina Myers along with five great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers: Charles Hicks (Theresa) and Don Hicks (Becky) all of Harmony and a sister, Mary Hall (Tommy) of Statesville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buster Treadway officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Bright Light Baptist Church Cemetery.
